A draft billed related to the maritime tourism sector, particularly marinas, was unveiled for public deliberation on Monday by the relevant tourism ministry, with one article allowing the Greek state to transfer a concession for a marina to a local government body or another entity in the wider state sector – and beyond the 16 currently state-owned marinas or other so-called “tourism ports”.
The draft bill is entitled “Regulations for the modernization of the institutional framework in the tourism sector” and will remain open for public debate from 11/12/2017 to 5/1/2018 in the government’s online Diavgeia transparency program here (in Greek).
It aims to modernize the tourism legislation as a whole to fill gaps, adopt good practices and adhere to international standards regrading car rentals, short-term rental of residential property by private individuals, hotel and camping sites, the tourist guide profession, tourist agencies, as well as professional tourism schools.
