The Sheikh of Qatar is widely known to love Skiathos since he chooses it every year for his vacations, as he has been visiting the island since 2005.
For the last 24 hours, the yacht “Al Mirqab” of Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani has been in Skopelos and specifically has dropped anchor in the open between the beach of Agnontas and Limnonari.
The “Al Mirqrab” of approximately 135 meters in length, ties up in the winter for maintenance at the facilities in Germany for service on its engines. Afterwards, it “descends” towards Croatia since its Croatian captain boards to take the helm.
For the last three days, it has anchored in the open between Agnontas and Limnonari beaches of Skopelos, from where the exclusive photos of Skiathoschannel.gr come from.
It is striking that a member of the royal dynasty of Qatar has not yet visited Skopelos Town, the capital of the island of the same name, at the time of writing.
It is the first mega yacht to arrive in the Sporades this year, and the Sheikh is starting his vacation early in May.
Finally, we should note that Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani has maintained excellent, friendly relations with businessman Aris Dervenis (left in the photo) of “Skiathos Palace” for at least the last 15 years.
