Permits for floating platforms in Corfu and Zakynthos

Two permits for floating platforms were approved by the competent bodies, for placement in maritime areas of Corfu and Zakynthos.

Specifically, the General Secretariat of Ports, Port Policy and Maritime Investments, approved the placement of a floating platform, with a total area of ??18 sq.m. in the maritime area of ??Nissaki in Corfu, at the Skinos location, for the purpose of mooring boats, on behalf of Ms. Aikaterini Zachariadou and for seasonal use up to 9 months.

The service of access only to and from the floating platform and if any other means of access is deemed inappropriate by the Port Authority, will be provided by an access bridge with an area of ??3.40 sq.m. The connection of the corridor with the floating platform and the land will be made by simple foundation.

It is noted that the floating platform should be placed at a safe distance from any port works located or being constructed in the specific sea area, as well as from maritime hazards, especially shipwrecks, areas where tides are observed, etc. In addition, the floating platform should not impede safe navigation or be located within navigable channels and sea routes, as well as in areas where submarine cables and pipelines are laid.

At the same time, the General Secretariat of Ports, Port Policy and Maritime Investments approved the placement of a floating platform, with an area of ??69.99 sq.m. in the Varvares marine area in Zakynthos, for the purpose of using it as a starting and parking point, motorized and non-motorized, marine recreational vehicles, on behalf of the company PELIGONI TOURIST SINGLE-PERSON LTD.

It is noted that, among other things, the use of the floating platform for the installation and operation of restaurants or entertainment centers is not permitted, nor can it serve as permanent mooring locations for boats or for advertising purposes. Also, in the event of finding ancient or cultural objects during the installation work of the floating platform, those responsible for the project must stop them and immediately notify the Ephorate of Underwater Antiquities.
