Nea Metropolitan Attica S.A. – Development Organization of Local Government approved the statutes of the new Non-Profit Urban Company under the name “Agri-Food Partnership of the Region of Attica.” With this decision, the Region moves forward with the establishment of a unified entity that will undertake the overall strategy for promoting and enhancing the external visibility of the region’s agri-food products, as well as coordinating actions to strengthen the primary sector and the supply chain.
Goals and responsibilities of the new Partnership
According to the approved statutes, the Agri-Food Partnership will support, highlight, and promote products produced within the administrative boundaries of the Region of Attica, both in the domestic and international markets. In this context, it will document and support the operational development plan for the agri-food sector, as updated by the Regional Council.
At the same time, it will participate in European programs and funding instruments, contributing to the growth of demand for local products, fostering synergies among production stakeholders, and further establishing Attica as a distinct brand on the agri-food map.

The partnership is composed of a broad network combining institutional bodies, educational institutions, chambers of commerce, collective organizations, and market enterprises. Participants include the Region of Attica, the University of West Attica, the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nea Metropolitan Attica S.A., and the Regional Development Fund of Attica. The composition is complemented by LAEA “Acropolis – Chef’s Club of Attica,” the Association of Winemakers of the Attica Vineyard, the Athens – Attica & Saronic Islands Hotel Association, as well as companies from the processing and agri-food sector, such as Megas Gyros S.A., Genfroco S.A., and Agromeg IKE.
