Grecotel "introduces" Greece to the Indian luxury tourism market

The Indian travel market is showing significant interest in Greece as a destination for weddings, luxury travel and tailor-made experiences, with Grecotel Hotels & Resorts attempting a targeted approach. In early September, the group, in collaboration with its Indian representative Elysian, organized a seven-day familiarization trip (FAM trip) for 11 leading travel consultants from Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.

Route to three destinations

The trip began in Corfu, with a stay at the Corfu Imperial, where the participants visited the traditional village of Danilia and the old town of Corfu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The group then traveled to Mykonos and Mykonos Blu, where they visited internationally renowned spots such as the beach clubs Scorpios and Nammos, as well as Mykonos Lolita. The experience concluded in Attica, with stops in Athens and Sounio, including a stay at Cape Sounio, an event at The Roc Club and a gala dinner at The Dolli at Acropolis.

Strategic interest in India

India is now considered one of the most emerging markets for Greek tourism, especially in the field of destination weddings, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) and luxury travel. This initiative is part of this dynamic, with Indian professionals getting to know the Greek infrastructure and hospitality capabilities firsthand. Representatives from recognized Indian agencies and organizations participated in the trip, which shows the increased interest of the Indian market in Greece.
