The Ministry of Tourism has decided to implement 2 fast-paced training programs in the tour guide profession, lasting two months.
The first program will be implemented at the facilities of the University of Crete, in Rethymno and Heraklion, from October 8 to December 9, and the number of trainees will be up to 50 people. The implementing body is the Center for Training and Lifelong Learning of the University of Crete.
Interested parties wishing to participate in the fast-track training program should submit exclusively on the KEDIVIM platform from September 1st at 00:15 until September 8th at 23:45.
The total cost of implementing the fast-track program amounts to 73,200 euros. Entrants are charged tuition fees, which correspond to the equal distribution of the implementation cost depending on the final number of entrants. The tuition fees also include the cost of necessary travel within the framework of practical exercises and technical tour courses in monuments, museums, archaeological sites, and tourism businesses in other prefectures of Crete, except Rethymno and Heraklion.
The second program will be implemented at the facilities of the Department of History and Archaeology at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ioannina from October 21 to December 22, and the number of trainees will be up to 50 people. The implementing agency is the Department of History and Archaeology of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Ioannina.
Interested parties who wish to participate in the fast-track training program must submit their applications from September 8 to 19 in person or by registered mail to the University of Ioannina with the clear indication “For the Fast-Track Training Program in the Guide Profession”.
The total cost of implementing the fast-track program amounts to 60,000 euros. Those admitted are charged tuition fees, which correspond to the equal distribution of the implementation cost depending on the final number of admitted participants. Tuition also includes the cost of necessary travel within the framework of practical exercises and tour guide techniques courses at monuments, museums, archaeological sites, and tourism businesses.
