The number of visitors to the museums of Ancient Olympia and Delphi showed an explosive increase in March 2025 compared to the corresponding month last year.
According to the ELSTAT Museum and Archaeological Sites Traffic Survey bulletin for March, the museum of Ancient Olympia shows an increase in visitors by 260%, and a total of 16,73 visitors, and the Delphi museum +175% compared to the corresponding month in 2024 (62,472 visitors).
At the same time, losses are noted at the respective archaeological sites, with the decrease in Delphi amounting to 62.8% and in Ancient Olympia to 38.2%.
Overall, in museums, in March, there was an increase in visitors by 4.8%, while receipts increased by 126.6% due to a change in pricing policy, to 3.4 million euros.
In archaeological sites, there was an increase in visitors by 3.3%, and an increase in the corresponding receipts by 33.1%, to 6.8 million euros.
During the quarter of January – March 2025, there was an increase, compared to the corresponding period of 2024, of 4.1% in museum visitors and 59.3% in the corresponding receipts, to 5.1 million euros.
In archaeological sites, there was an increase compared to the corresponding period of 2024 of 3.4% in visitors and an increase of 23.1% in the corresponding receipts, to 11 million euros.
