The Pierian Organization for Tourism Development and Promotion (P.O.T.A.P.) reaffirms its strategic commitment to investing in culture as a driving force for tourism growth by co-organizing the Olympus Festival 2025. This iconic institution of Pieria and Northern Greece is further enhanced this year with the support of the organization, which aims to boost the region’s visibility and attract visitors by showcasing its natural and cultural wealth.
With a clear vision of promoting cultural tourism, P.O.T.A.P. focuses on the synergy between tourism and culture, supporting initiatives that increase visitor numbers and encourage sustainable development in the region. Its participation in the Olympus Festival is part of a broader plan to position Pieria as a cultural and thematic destination, with an emphasis on enriching the visitor experience.
As P.O.T.A.P. President Giorgos Karalis stated:
“Our collaboration with the Olympus Festival Organization is a significant step in highlighting Pieria as a cultural tourism destination. By supporting actions that showcase our region’s identity and heritage, we create opportunities for development and continuous outreach, aiming to make Pieria a reference point for visitors from Greece and abroad.”
Celebrating over five decades of continuous presence, the Olympus Festival is one of the most important cultural institutions in Macedonia. Every summer, it attracts large audiences and renowned artists to archaeological sites, castles, and open-air theaters throughout Pieria, offering a unique cultural panorama at the foot of Mount Olympus.
This year’s co-organization with P.O.T.A.P. strengthens the connection between Pieria’s tourism product and its cultural dimension, promoting the region not just as a summer getaway, but as a year-round cultural destination.
Pieria Deputy Regional Governor Sofia Mavridou also emphasized the importance of collaboration among institutional bodies:
“Pieria is a land of culture, history, and natural beauty. By supporting this year’s Olympus Festival in cooperation with P.O.T.A.P., we invest in initiatives that unite culture and tourism, turning Pieria into a vibrant cultural and tourist destination, with respect for both people and place.”
