The Ministry of Tourism has approved applications for aid for investment projects for accessible beaches of Hersonissos, Agios Nikolaos and Tanagra, within the framework of the action Improving and Modifying Accessibility to Greek Beaches of the Recovery and Resilience Fund, which is financed by the European Union – NextGeneration EU.
The above action aims to improve the accessibility of people with mobility problems or disabled people in general, through integrated investment interventions for semi-permanent installations to improve the existing infrastructure.
Among other things, the action includes interventions related to the construction of non-permanent beach access ramps (supply of a non-permanent ramp system for access to the sea for people with mobility problems, supply of a wheelchair ramp system for their access to the sea, etc.), supply of non-permanent auxiliary facilities such as removable changing rooms, portable sanitary facilities and corridors consisting of sections of appropriate length for easy transport and storage during the winter period, necessary equipment for an accessible beach, special signage and other infrastructure elements, as appropriate.
In this direction, the Ministry of Tourism approved the application for support for the investment plan of the municipality of Hersonissos concerning the 3 beaches of Potamos, west of the Bella Hotel and Estavromenos. The total approved budget of the project amounts to 182,228.08 euros.
At the same time, the Ministry of Tourism approved the application for support for the investment plan of the Municipal Public Company of Agios Nikolaos, which concerns the 4 beaches of Voulisma, Kalo Chorio, Almyros, Ammos, Schisma, Elounda. The total approved budget of the project amounts to 235,595 euros.
Finally, the Ministry of Tourism approved the application for support for the investment plan of the municipality of Tanagra, which concerns the beach of Plaka Dilesi. The total approved budget of the project amounts to 69,999.64 euros.
