The Municipality of Alonnisos is redefining its tourism image, presenting the islands new tourism identity and logo, which reflect its authentic Mediterranean character and ecological focus.
The new identity is based on three core colors and themes: the Sun, represented by yellow; the Sea, represented by blue; and Nature, represented by green. These serve as central elements of the islands visual and communication identity.
Specifically, the Sun, symbolizing warmth, Mediterranean light, and the carefree spirit of vacations, highlights Alonnisos welcoming character. The Sea, with its crystal-clear waters and unique coastlines, is closely linked to the regions natural heritage and the AlonnisosNorthern Sporades National Marine Park, the most important habitat for the Mediterranean monk seal (Monachus monachus). Nature represents the islands rich biodiversity, including the rare endemic plant Iris kondylorhiza, symbolizing harmony and the ecological character of Alonnisos.
The new tourism identity will be used across all promotional activities of the Municipality, including digital and print media, tourism exhibitions, social media, and destination information points. The goal is to strengthen the islands recognition, differentiate it from other island destinations, and associate its tourism image with a brand of authentic experiences and ecotourism.
According to the relevant decision, this initiative is part of the Municipalitys strategy to create a unified, modern, and emotionally compelling image of Alonnisos, combining natural beauty with sustainability and respect for the environment. The new identity expresses the philosophy of a place that chooses to develop through authenticity, quality, and harmony with nature.
