The Ionian Road in Greece was joined to the Rio-Antirrio bridge

A small, yet very important part of the Ionian Road was delivered a few days ago for use in western Greece, newgreektv.com reports.

It is a 6.5 km section that joined the Ionian Road with the Rio-Antirion bridge “Charilaos Trikoupis”.

The 6.5 new tract includes, among others, the Antirrio interchange and the Makinesia tunnel, a double-section tunnel, 500 meters in length, with two lanes per direction.

With their release for circulation and the union with the bridge, the southern part of the motorway was completed.
