There is to be no service on the Athens metro on Thursday night from 9 p.m. onwards after drivers announced they would hold a work stoppage over working conditions.
The walkout was decided on Monday by the union representing employees of the fixed-track transport operator STASY.
Workers are calling for managers to realize their demands for the payment of additional social security contributions which, they say, correspond to the hazardous nature of their job.
