Corinth Canal in Greece closed after storms cause landslide

The Corinth Canal closed for marine traffic on Monday and will remain closed for about 15 days after intense storms and bad weather caused a landslide, the shipping ministry said, ANA reports.

Images in Greek press showed rocks had broken off and dropped into the sea along with mud. The Coast Guard has prohibited ships from crossing the Canal, and will now have to sail around the southern and western Peloponnese.
