Free transportation for visitors to the beach of Schinias – Marathon National Park

Free transportation to the beach of Schinias – Marathon National Park is offered every weekend and public holiday, until September 18, 2025, by the Natural Environment and Climate Change Organization (OFYPEKA). The action is implemented by the Management Unit of Parnitha, Schinias and Protected Areas of the Saronic Gulf National Parks, in the context of the implementation of the Presidential Decree (P.D. 3.7.2000 – GG 395 D’) and the Park’s Management and Operation Regulation.
The initiative aims, on the one hand, to facilitate visitors and, on the other, to relieve traffic congestion within the protected natural environment.

The chartered bus routes start at 09:00 a.m. from the parking lot of the Olympic Rowing Course and run every 20 minutes, with the last route from the beach (end of Schinias Avenue) at 20:40 p.m. Nine predetermined stops have been set along the route, serving both the forest and beach paths as well as the health shops on Schinias Avenue.

For reasons of safety and protection of the natural environment, parking of vehicles at any point on Schinias Avenue is strictly prohibited.

In the event of an increased fire risk (risk level 4 or 5), a ban on traffic and visitors staying in the pine forest and on the beach will apply, while the shuttle service will not operate.
