Chios invites its visitors to experience the city in a new, ecological and fun way. The new shared electric bike system of the municipality of Chios is now fully operational and allows for free rides of up to three hours, offering a different way to explore the city’s neighborhoods, attractions and waterfront.
With 47 electric bikes and six hub stations, visitors can start their ride from:
Vounaki Square, the heart of the city
The University of the Aegean, close to youth hangouts
The Homeric Cultural Center, a reference point for local cultural life
The Ramnis Street Parking and the EVODO Parking, ideal for those arriving by car
and Farkaina, for a ride with a view of the Aegean
Using it is simple via the Easy Bike Chios app: download the app, create an account, identify yourself with Taxisnet and… the ride begins.
Choose a leisurely ride along the coastal road, discover the neighborhoods around the Castle or stop for coffee and photos on the waterfront. After the first three hours of free use, only a small fee applies, according to the municipality.
With the new bicycle system, Chios is taking a dynamic step towards sustainable mobility, upgrading the traveler experience and giving an ecological dimension to tours of the island.
