Royal Caribbean | Legend of the Seas is coming with many innovations

  • Legend of the Seas is expected to significantly boost the company’s sales, offering the world’s leading family vacations from July 2026.

Royal Caribbean International is once again setting new standards in the cruise industry, revealing the name and schedule of the third ship in the Icon Class series – Legend of the Seas.

The unique combination of experiences that characterizes this revolutionary class of ships will cruise year-round from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, starting in November 2026, with 6-day Western Caribbean cruises and 8-day Southern Caribbean cruises, including visits to the award-winning Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas.

Ahead of her official Caribbean debut, Legend will offer seven-day summer cruises to the Western Mediterranean from Barcelona, ??beginning in July 2026. The cruise schedule will be available soon on Royal Caribbean International’s website, and Crown & Anchor Society members will have priority access to book ahead of the official opening on Thursday, February 20.

“After celebrating one year since the launch of our iconic Icon Class series and the unforgettable moments that Icon cruises have delivered, we are thrilled to announce the name of the third ship in the Icon Class,” said Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International. “Legend of the Seas is the next bold step in this exciting holiday season and continues the legacy of the Icon Class. We look forward to bringing these groundbreaking experiences to even more families and travelers throughout Europe, the Caribbean, and beyond.”

In the summer, travelers can explore unique European destinations such as France, Italy, and Spain, filled with historic landmarks, stunning landscapes, and sun-drenched beaches. In the winter, Legend of the Seas will sail the Western and Southern Caribbean, calling at stunning destinations such as Oranjestad in Aruba, the enchanting beaches of Falmouth in Jamaica, and the culturally rich city of Willemstad in Curacao.

Currently under construction in Turku, Finland, Legend of the Seas is the next chapter in the world’s premier family vacation. This third Icon Class ship will bring even more of the unique experiences introduced with Icon of the Seas and repeated with Star of the Seas, which will debut in Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida, in August 2025. Passengers will be able to enjoy a world of entertainment and relaxation through eight themed neighborhoods, more than 40 food and beverage options, adrenaline-filled thrills, limitless relaxation, and countless moments of fun for all ages.

Travelers can expect innovations such as Crown’s Edge – a combination aerial walk, ropes course, and adventure, as well as the largest water park at sea, Category 6. Those seeking tranquility can relax in one of the ship’s seven pools, including the largest pool at sea, Royal Bay, Swim & Tonic with a swim-up bar and Hideway, which features a unique Infinity pool, over the sea and accessible only to adults. Families can enjoy Surfside, the neighborhood designed for young children, and the Ultimate Family Townhouse, a three-story residence with redesigned spaces for the whole family.

Legend of the Seas will also be the company’s fourth ship to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and will feature advanced environmental programs, such as waste heat recovery systems and shore power connectivity, contributing to Royal Caribbean Group’s goal of introducing a zero-emission cruise ship by 2035.
