Refugee flows to Greek islands and Piraeus continue to drop sharply

The number of refugees and migrants arriving at Greek islands of the northeastern Aegean has continued to drop over the last 24 hours.

A total of 144 persons, mainly Pakistani refugees, have arrived since Sunday, 17 on Lesvos, 63 on Chios, and 64 on Samos.

Therefore, the number of the refugees arriving in Piraeus port from the islands of Aegean Sea was significantly reduced on Monday, since the ferry “Ariadni” that docked at the port early in the morning carried only 17 refugees and migrants from Chios and Mytilene.

The ‘Blue Star 2’ ferry docked without any refugees and migrants aboard. On Sunday there were no arrivals of refugees from the islands of Aegean Sea.
