The Corfu island seamen’s union has called off planned strike action on Friday, after a general assembly held on the island on Thursday afternoon. Talking to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, the head of the union Christos Vitouladitis said the strike was called off until the end of negotiations for a collective labour agreement for ferry crews.
After the decision, ships in the ports of Corfu and Igoumenitsa will remain docked until 6:00 on Friday morning, when the strike currenty underway comes to an end.
