The Panhellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO) has announced that on Monday, September 3, all coastal vessels will go on 24-hour strike. The Federation responds in this way to the proposal of the Association of Passenger Shipping Companies on 1% rise in the collective agreements for ship crews.
PNO asks that the increase be 5%, arguing that for the past eight years, there has been no rise in the salary of crews, despite the profession’s difficulties. Coastal shipping operators, on the other hand, argue that in the last years of the crisis, there have been no cuts in the salaries of seamen, as opposed to other sectors.
