Aid for the upgrade of the tourist shelter of Astakos and the Marina of Alimos

The Ministry of Tourism has approved aid for the upgrade of the tourist shelter of Astakos and the Marina of Alimos through the “Tourism Development” program of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, which is co-financed by the European Union -NextGeneration EU.

In particular, the Ministry of Tourism approved the application for aid for the investment plan to upgrade the tourist port of Astakos to a “smart”, “green” and development infrastructure, the beneficiary of which is the Municipal Port Fund of Xiromero.

The purpose of the investment is to upgrade the tourist port so that it constitutes a sports infrastructure, in the sense that it hosts sports clubs, or a multifunctional infrastructure, in the sense that it offers more than one service, excluding amusement parks and hotels. Such activities can be sports, cultural, and tourism activities.

The investment includes, among other things, port works, construction, expansion or modernization of building facilities, improvement of infrastructure and installation of equipment, digitalization activities, and automation of parking lots. In addition, environmental protection systems, water quality management systems, a meteorological parameter measurement station, a smart structural health system of a tourist port, etc., are provided for.

The approved total budget of the project reaches 1,498,200 euros, of which 1,183,560 euros are public expenditure and the remaining amount is private expenditure.

Alimos Marina Upgrade

In parallel, the investment plan for the upgrade of Alimos Marina was approved, with the beneficiary being the DEVELOPMENT OF NEW ALIMOS MARINA SINGLE-PERSON SA, which will be implemented in Alimos.

The purpose of the investment is the shielding and treatment of the waters of the tourist port, with the aim of constituting either a sports infrastructure or a multifunctional infrastructure for tourist, cultural, and sports activities, excluding amusement parks and hotels. The investment includes, among other things, the removal of rockfalls and water treatment, management,t and conservation systems, as well as water jetting of vessels. The approved total budget of the project reaches 7,365,739.22 euros, of which 5,260,602.26 euros are public expenditure and the remaining amount is private expenditure.
