For another year, the spotlight of world yachting is on Greece, as the Mediterranean Yacht Show (MEDYS) is in full swing in the picturesque port of Nafplio. This year’s event, the 10th anniversary, confirms Greece’s leading role in international maritime tourism, hosting the world’s leading exhibition of manned commercial pleasure boats.
With 115 luxury yachts registered to participate, the show is recording record registrations, while the available berths were sold out immediately. Hundreds of industry professionals, shipbrokers, and decision makers from all over the world are in Nafplio to get up close and personal with the latest developments and trends in the luxury yachting industry.

The official inauguration took place on Saturday, May 3, in the presence of institutional representatives, such as Deputy Minister of Tourism Anna Karmanli, the Regional Governor of Peloponnese Dimitris Ptochos, and the Mayor of Nafplio Dimitris Orfanos. The President of the Hellenic Maritime Tourism Association, Michalis Skoulikidis, highlighted the institution’s progress from 2014 to the present, speaking of “an ambitious project that has become a point of reference for the international shipping community”.
The inauguration event concluded with the traditional reception at Palamidi, where guests enjoyed a unique evening with live music and an impressive drone show that lit up the sky of Nafplio.
MEDYS is the only event in Greece that focuses exclusively on the upper segment of luxury yachting, with the participation of yachts over 24 meters with a Greek professional license. Among the international companies participating are: Fraser, Burgess, Edmiston, Camper & Nicholsons, IYC, and Northrop & Johnson.
A special place in the program of the exhibition is occupied by the gastronomic competition Chefs’ Competition, with this year’s theme being Greek cuisine. The creations are evaluated by two leading haute cuisine chefs: Giorgos Papazacharias (2 Michelin stars) and Luca Piscazzi (1 Michelin star), guaranteeing the quality and prestige of the competition.
The Mediterranean Yacht Show is organized by the Hellenic Maritime Tourism Association and the Municipality of Nafplio, is under the auspices of the Ministries of Tourism and Shipping and Island Policy, and is supported by the Peloponnese Region. This year’s anniversary reflects the now-established international momentum of Greek yachting, which continues to strengthen the economy, employment, and global image of the country.
