The municipality of Sithonia issued opinions on the placement of two floating platforms in marine areas of Halkidiki.
Specifically, the municipality of Sithonia issued a positive opinion on the issuance of a floating platform permit for seasonal use, for the purpose of mooring boats, at the Platani location of Agios Nikolaos, Sithonia, Halkidiki, on behalf of the company SYMMETRON TOURISTIC S.A.
According to the above decision, among other things, there is no port marine zone in the area in question, while no marine recreation equipment rental businesses are active. Also, there is no increased boat traffic and the sea is not rocky.
In addition, in close proximity to the area in which the floating platform is planned, a floating platform of another company is being placed for seasonal use.
It is noted that the location where the floating platform is requested falls within a protected area that is part of the NATURA 2000 network and specifically belongs to OROS ITAMOS-SITHONIA.
At the same time, the municipality of Sithonia gave a positive opinion on the issuance of a floating platform permit for seasonal use, for the purpose of mooring boats, at the location of Agios Andreas-Diaporos Island, Agios Nikolaos, Sithonia, Halkidiki, account of the company SYMMETRON TOURISTIC S.A.
‘As stated in the reasoning of the decision, among other things, in the said area there is no maritime port zone, while no marine recreation equipment rental businesses are active. Also, there is no increased boat traffic and the sea is not rocky.
It is noted that the location where the floating platform is requested falls within a protected area that is part of the NATURA 2000 network and specifically belongs to OROS ITAMOS-SITHONIA.
The above opinions point out that the placement of floating platforms for the addition of boats is done to ensure maximum protection for bathers and to minimize the possibility of an accident.
Finally, the final permits for floating platforms for seasonal use, which are issued throughout the country, state, among other things, that the use of floating platforms for the installation and operation of restaurants or recreation centers is not permitted, nor can they serve as permanent boat mooring locations or for advertising purposes.
