The Kalamaria Municipal Council will meet on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 8:00 PM in the iconic Remezzo building, on Aretsous beach, with the sole agenda item being “Discussion and decision-making on developments in Aretsous Marina”.
The meeting takes place after the issuance of the Joint Ministerial Decision (JMD), which advances the tender process for the concession of Aretsous Marina by HRADF to a private individual. This decision overrides the decisions of the Municipal Council of Kalamaria and the Metropolitan Committee of Thessaloniki of the Region of Central Macedonia, while the Municipality of Kalamaria has appealed to the Council of State for the annulment of the relevant Presidential Decree, which is specified in the Joint Ministerial Decree, and is awaiting the decision of the courts.
The members of parliament of Thessaloniki, the Governor of Central Macedonia, the President of the Metropolitan Committee of Thessaloniki of the Greek People’s Party, as well as citizens and representatives of associations and organizations of Kalamaria have been invited to the meeting.
The meeting in Remezzo will institutionally highlight the importance of the issue, with a view to protecting the coastal front and respecting the public interest.
