EC calls on Greece to apply rules for passengers travelling by sea and inland waterways

The Commission requested Greece to fully apply EU rules on the rights of passengers travelling by sea and inland waterways in the EU (Regulation 1177/2010).

Currently, the Greek national legislation prevents passengers to fully benefit from the rights granted by this Regulation when their maritime passenger service is cancelled or delayed. Greece now has two months to notify the Commission of the measures taken to correctly apply the Regulation; otherwise, the Commission may refer the case to the Court of Justice of the EU.
