Ships scheduled to sail from Piraeus to Iraklio and Chania at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday will go ahead as planned, authorities said, after strong winds in the Aegean cancelled several ferry departures in Greece earlier in the day, ANA reports.
The winds, measuring 8 or 9 on the Beaufort scale, docked ships at Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio ports, while services in the Saronic Gulf were conducted only in enclosed-deck ferries.
Passengers wishing to travel by ferry are advised to contact their travel agent or local port authority to check for possible cancellations or changes to scheduled departure times.
