Grimaldi Group CEO Emanuele Grimaldi didn’t rule out an interest in Attica Group if the latter comes on the selling block, in statements during a press conference in Athens on Friday afternoon on the sidelines of the ΧΧΙΙ Euromed Convention.
He pointed out that Minoan Lines, a Grimaldi group subsidiary, has zero debts at the moment, allowing it to exploit any coastal shipping opportunity that arises.
“We’re ready to exploit every opportunity .. we don’t know when it will present itself, but we’re examining everything …. we have an increase in market share with profitability,” he noted.
Furthermore, Grimaldi said that if no opportunity arises then his group will further expand in Greece with new vessels that it is building.
Finally, he unveiled that up until April 2019 scrubbers will be installed on three Minoan Lines vessels, two conventional ferry boat and a high-speed carrier.
