Shipping Minister Ioannis Plakiotakis on Wednesday presented the new framework for the public procurement and tendering of ferry services for ‘limited-traffic’ routes to remote Greek islands, ANA reports.
The new framework, he said, is incorporated in a new development planning tool in support of the Greek islands, with increasing financial resources and not with a subsidy approach.
Funding of limited-traffic ferry lines would increase by 40 million euros, from 90.7 million euros to 130 million euros.
