With the aim of coastal ferry service to Kastellorizo, a contract was signed today, 14/03/2025, for the service of the line from Piraeus to Kastellorizo, with the execution of one additional route per week, which extends the route from PIRAEUS to RHODES.
The relevant contract will be valid from Wednesday 19/03/2025 and no later than 18/06/2025 and covers the period up to and including the completion of the current tender, which is to be held on 20/03/2025.
Specifically, the Ministry of Shipping and Insular Policy took into account the no. 87/12-02-25 letter from Mayor Megisti requests the extension of the execution of one additional route that was being executed until 16/02/25 by the E/G-O/G “BLUE STAR PATMOS” L.P. 12119.
To this end, the S.A.S. gave its opinion in favor of issuing an invitation with the same modified terms of the previous contract. That is, one route per week, as a continuation of routes from Piraeus to Rhodes. Alternatively, in the event of no expression of interest in covering the line with these terms, offers may be accepted for its coverage locally (not from Piraeus) with the execution of one or two routes per week.
It should be noted that the island is already served by the route line “RHODES – KASTELLORIZO and return”, with two (02) routes per week throughout the route period, as a continuation of routes from PIRAEUS to RHODES, for E/C-O/C vessels of total length over 100m.
